Provisional Description
This course will provide an introduction to the key principles and practical techniques used in the restoration of coral reef, seagrass, and mangrove ecosystems. Participants will explore the ecological importance of these interconnected habitats, the major threats they face, and the methods currently being used worldwide to support their recovery and long-term resilience. Topics will include coral propagation and outplanting, seagrass transplantation and monitoring, mangrove restoration strategies, site selection, nursery development, ecological monitoring, and community-based restoration approaches. Designed for students, early-career scientists, conservation practitioners, and marine enthusiasts, the course will offer a strong foundation in tropical ecosystem restoration and highlights the importance of integrated approaches to protecting marine biodiversity and coastal communities.
