Understanding the status of SDG 14 in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Voluntary Peoples Review 2018 (VPR) was prepared by a collective of CSOs, private sector,
academia, professional associations, trade unions, of the Sri Lanka Stakeholder SDG Platform (SLS SDG Platform).A Platform Facility managed by Global Sustainability Solutions together with the Centre for Environment and Development coordinated the process.

The VPR consultations and activities of the VPR were supported by Centre for Environmental Justice,
Janathakshan Gte, Action for Sustainable Development, Asia Civil Society Partnership for Sustainable
Development, and Asia Development Alliance. The provincial consultations were coordinated by Earth Lanka, Coalition for Education Development, Sithuwama Foundation, Plan International Sri Lanka, Galle District Secretariat, HELPO, Sri Lanka Nature Group, Future in Our Hands, National Union of Workers, Civil Society
Consortium Nuwaraeliya District, Musali Youth Organization, Movement for Land and Agricultural Reform,
Science Policy Circle. The launch of the SLS SDG Platform was supported by the Foundation for Innovative Social
Development, Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka, and Alcohol & Drug Information Centre, and the VPR writeshop was supported by World Vision Lanka.

The VPR process was guided and led by Uchita de Zoysa (Editor) and supported by members of the editorial
committee comprising of Dr. Prasanthi Gunawardane, Hemantha Withanage, Samantha Lindsay, Ranga
Pallawala, Isha Miranda, and Sudarsha de Silva.

Reviews of the 17 SDGs were conducted by Vidhura Ralapanawe, Sajith Wijesuriya, Dr. Kumudini Gunasekera, Ananda Jayaweera, Sadun Thudugala, Dinesh Keerthinanda, Kamal Herath, Shantha Kulathunge, Sachini Perera, Thilini Kasthuri, Saffran Mihnar, Avishka Sendanayake, and members of the Editorial Committee.
Contributions to the VPR were received from over 500 experts, activists and researchers and representativesfrom more than 100 organisations from government, local authorities, civil society, academia, business chambers provided critical input to the reviews.
